BALI DAY2 – SIGHTSEEING :)

September 12th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Eh.. I’ll just post up my Bali pictures with some small captions for today. Damn lazy to blog. Anyway, pictures speak a thousand words, – right? right? right?

RIGHT.

Hire a car with driver to Ubud to see the breath-taking paddy field. Man, it was awesome.. really beautiful.

Can sit in the small hut and have a drink while enjoying the beautiful landscape…

Or.. take a picture with the old man who works in the paddy field is a professional model. Have to pay him to take this picture k! Don’t play play :)

After paddy field, we went to try the famous Ibu Oka Babi Guling. It’s like our siu yok (roast pork) rice but the skin is tad too hard to bite – I prefer the Malaysian version. Nevertheless, babi guling is still the best meal we had in the entire trip.

Ahem, ignore the messy hair and tired face. I did make up ok! but melted under the hot sun :(

Went to Ubud market later for shopping. Really cheap things here. No pictures because too busy buying & bargaining, except this random pic taken in a prayer site outside the market :)

Passed by many many paddy field on our way to Tanah Lot.

IMG_4797

Ask our driver to stop so that we can risk our lives to camwhore next to passing cars…

IMG_4804

Sleep through the i-dont-know-how-long journey to Tanah Lot. Only to wake up to find we’re there already :)

Speechless to see the gift God has given to Bali…

IMG_4846
You can walk to the temple during low tide in the day. And it’ll be surrounded by water during high tide, hence the name of Temple In the Sea. Damn spectacular.

Amy die die also wanna go Ku De Ta. A famous upscale pub & restaurant packed with Mat Sallehs in Seminyak. And we being the vain girls brought our part dresses to change :)

Mandatory picture taken in the washroom :P

IMG_4976

The restaurant oversees this super long beach. Must come during evening to see the sunset, so romantic. Ku De Ta has been voted the best place propose and have a wedding in Bali.

Aww.. my flower hair clip is so nice :)

Went back to Kuta/Legian at night. Passed by the 2002 bombing site and memorial. Felt eerie so left early and didn’t party again..

BALI DAY1 – LAST TO BOARD THE PLANE

August 23rd, 2009 | 7 Comments

Hi peeps! What should I blog about Bali? Like seriously, 90% of the ppl i knew went to Bali this year and I think I’m one of the last one lor. Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating about the 90% but when i ask everyone who just got back from a trip, everyone gave me the same answer – Bali. wtf.

I always like Redang Island. I’ve been there twice in consecutive year and I plan to make it a yearly thing.

Redang is like the greatest beach holiday I can ever ask for. Sunshine, private beach, blue sea and the finest sand I’ve ever set my feet in. So for me, nothing beats Redang, and Bali is not gonna beat it.

Man.. I’m wrong.

Met Amy at KL Sentral and took the yellow bus to LCCT. It might be cheaper but heck, next time just stick with the Red Skybus ok.. The yellow one took a longer route. Waste my time only.

I think I must have not fly for so long already… 9 months since my previous flight. My flight is at 9.20 am but I kept thinking 9.20 am boarding. Went to the gate at 9.10 to find that the gate is open, some more can ask “eh…so fast open already geh”. damn sweat. I miss last year..all the flying and where the airport feels like home :)

Bali airport is super inefficient weh. Stupid luggage take 20 mins to arrive. When you’re new to a country, always buy a taxi coupon to avoid the touts. Cost us Rp 95,000 from Airport to Sanur.

OMG.. our hotel is super duper nice. So balinese :) Got open air bathroom and shower some more…if come with gf/bf sure damn nice :P

Then, we went Kuta for Surfing. If you sign up for the surfing course from the established outlets, they actually provide pick up service from the hotel. Else, you can go to the beach yourself and there’ll be plenty of surfboards for rent and instructors available too. Remember to negotiate, we got 1-1 instructor for Rp 150,000 per person.

IMG_4494 Proof that I went surfing :)

IMG_4504 Don’t know why Amy didn’t send me other pictures of me surfing.

I went surfing ok. Don’t play play. Though I only manage to stand up once during the 2 hour session. Hmph!

IMG_4506With our instructors

In Kuta Beach, Bali during sunset. Apa lagi.. camwhore lor…

IMG_4527IMG_4540IMG_4547

Went cari makan around Kuta, took the wrong turn. Most happening lanes are located at the left of Hard Rock but we went right. Have to eat super expensive McD for dinner.

IMG_4557But they serve Fanta in McD. I like!!
gosh, ignore those dark eye circles pls

In Bali, you must try Teh Botol and Soda Gembira, after drinking, sure gembira. Hehe (i know, lame)

IMG_4574 IMG_4576

Met this cute (as in personality, not looking) Balinese surf instructor in the warung who happened to speak pretty well English. He became the translator when we ordered the food :)

After warung, we went jalan jalan round Kuta and met the cute Balinese again. Oh, his name is Chaves i think. And he so nice brought us to Poppies Lane I! Finally ended up in the more popular places in Kuta.

Went for foot massage (Rp 50,000 for 1 hour, damn cheap) first then drink. Oh wait, was it drink 1st then massage? Whatever.

IMG_4604

Too tired from surfing and didn’t want to party. Took taxi back to Sanur, scared kena cheat so we ask to use meter. Mana tau, he made a huge turn to inflate the fare, Cheat one!! (p/s: Felt so sorry to Amy, promised her that we should party kau kau in Bali, but ended up balik before 11 every night)
